The Snow – Theatre show Wodonga secondary college

The Snow is coming! Wodonga Senior Secondary College students work for months to find their way out of the most epic snowfall. You will laugh and you will cry as you are taken on this fantastical journey with them. Be mesmerised by the talent and dedication as they present this Australian play, The Snow.

Wodonga, prepare yourself for ‘The SNOW’! A whimsical production presented by Theatre and Music students and staff of Wodonga Senior Secondary College with a guest appearance from the Flying Fruit Fly Circus. Theodore and six of his mates will go on an adventure to find a solution to the epic snowfall on their little village. 12 students will take the stage, with many more behind the scenes, to present a most entertaining Australian play.

The Snow is falling at Wodonga Senior Secondary College July 21-23.

Director and Theatre Studies teacher, Tanya Gower and Music teacher and composer, Lisa Bektash have not let the pandemic hold them back! They have continued producing high quality theatre and music in the North East to provide young people with amazing opportunities to build experience and confidence while in Secondary School. Winning both Georgy Awards and APT Awards for their 2021 production ‘Puffs’, this year they were inspired to do another straight play ‘The Snow’ written by living Australian playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer.
This beautifully written play is about young Theodore Sutton and the Giant Oliver who set out to save their tiny village of Kishka from The Snow. When an epic snowfall imprisons the residents of the tiny village of Kishka, young Theodore Sutton proposes the villagers build a catapult to fling him and six of the village’s bravest and strongest out in search of a solution. The catapult hastily assembled, Theodore and the heroes are launched over the snow and into the grandest of adventures. Whimsical and humorous, dark and mysterious, heartfelt and sincere, this play weaves a fantastical Grimmsian tale for the entire family.
