Echuca / Moama are border based townships in the central Murray river region. The greater townships area has a population of around 28,000 and growing.

Echuca – literally means the ‘meeting of the waters” in the traditional owners language with the meeting of the Campaspe, Murray & Goulburn River having a junction based meeting point at Echuca.

The town is also Australia’s paddle-steamer capital heralding that statement for more than 150 years, today Echuca retains the largest paddle-steamer fleet in the country with many lively river experiences to enjoy!

 Experience the culture and heritage of past Australia with a visit to the Port of Echuca, a living monument to the 1870s which once was the third largest port in Australia, outside Sydney and Melbourne. Another hot tip is the Echuca Historical society Musuem only based 150m from the Port of Echuca.
