This years Melbourne Food & Wine Festival held across the 16-25th of March is expanding ever more by providing foodies & tourists alike the opportunity to explore some of the magnificent dining to be found in & around the Murray River regions!

With a range of top chefs, foodies, locals & celebrity chef appearances of the likes of Masterschef TV series all stepping up to the plate for the regional dates of the 2018 -MFWF it definitely set’s a buzz!!!

Bruny on the Murray – MFWF 2018

Are you a cheese addict looking for a truly unique experience?

Join Nick Haddow, legendary Cheesemaker of Bruny Island Cheese Company as he takes you on a journey to discover the best tastes of Bruny Island.

Try oysters, cheese and beer from Southern Tasmania while you cruise the majestic Murray River past the historic Port of Echuca, home to the largest fleet of Paddle Steamers in the Southern Hemisphere.

Nick and his team at Bruny Island Cheese Company are inspired by the artisan cheeses from their travels throughout the great cheese producing regions of France, Italy, Spain and the UK. Bruny Island Beer Company have been making beer since 2016 inspired by Tasmania’s people, places and produce using locally grown ingredients.

Grab your mates or best gal pals and celebrate the end of the working week. Enjoy a cold beverage from the bar and then sit down with Nick as he takes you on a journey to discover the best tastes of Bruny Island in the unique setting of the Murray River.

The Gourmet Salt Lake Sunset Dinner - Mildura

Sunset Dinner by the Salt Lake

Experience dinner at sunset on the edge of the outback with ex-MasterChef cooks Arum Nixon, Samuel Whitehead and Sam Goodwin, at the truly spectacular Murray River Salt Harvest Site.

The twilight event will feature a variety of local produce and bush tucker sourced from this food bowl region based on the Murray River near Mildura.

Arum, Samuel and Sam came to prominence through MasterChef 2017.

The trio shared a similar love for produce driven cooking, communal eating and the great outdoors which saw an immediate bond form within the competition, and built the desire to collaborate together post-show.

Impressed by what they saw and experienced whilst on the show, and a logical central meeting point for the state-spread trio, Mildura has proven to be the perfect location for the guys to host a produce driven celebration of food and community.

All attendees will receive a complimentary pack of Murray River Salt Flakes.

Junction Moama is teaming up with Murray Human Services to host a feast like no other.

Sit back and enjoy a three course shared menu designed by Head Chef Dave Palmer in the exquisite setting of Junction Moama.

While you’re enjoying the delicious local produce and regional beverages, feast your mind on the fantastic work of our Community Partner Murray Human Services.

MHS provide support to over 290 adults living with a disability and their ‘Creative Kitchens’ team will be actively participating in this event by preparing components of the meal, learning new cooking tips from the Junction team and more.

A portion of your ticket will directly support Murray Human Services work with adults living with a disability.

Regional World’s Longest Lunch On the River Bank

Echuca’s regional lunch celebrates the communities of the town, the river and the region. Lunch on the banks of the Murray River showcases the region’s farming, indigenous and artistic communities.

Locally farmed yabbies, Murray cod, salt bush lamb, organic stone fruits and vegetables, river herbs and spices – the menu is all local, and all delicious.

Heathcote regional wines and locally brewed beers will be enjoyed with entertainment provided by celebrated local musicians.

This is a truly unique experience of the food, wine and people of the Murray River and Echuca community.

The Sun Country on the Murray Food and Wine Festival invites you to a collection of regional events showcasing our finest local produce.

MoVida Meets The Murray – MFW Fest!!! 2018

Frank Camorra, Executive Chef and co-owner of the MoVida group of restaurants, brings a little slice of Spain to the Murray River.

This event showcases the spirit and soul of Spanish food, sharing a menu of tapas and raciones amongst friends in the unique landscape of the Murray Region.

Hive to Home Field Trip - Beechworth

Immersive Beechworth Beekeeping Experience!

Discover the fascinating world of bees in this immersive hive-to-home experience near the historic town of Beechworth.

After being fitted and dressed in your “beekeeper for a day” outfits, you will journey with fellow guests to an active beehive site, set in a pristine North East location. There you will learn about the inner workings of a hive and get hands-on during a honey extraction demonstration by our Bee School Beekeepers.

Afterwards, you can relax and enjoy the fresh honey you’ve collected from the hives at a special morning-tea picnic on location.
