Tough TILLY Day
Echuca/Moama comes alive this Summer in January with a concert organised to help raise awareness & much needed funds for EB research & hopefully a cure, With a host of performers coming onboard featuring the likes of Taxirides (Jason Singh), Boom Crash Operas (Dale Ryder) Reece Mastin, Katie Underwood, Taylor Sheridan & DJ Alley Cat. to help do their bit for those that don’t know what EB stands for it is the shortened term for “Epidermolysis Bullosa” which is a rare genetic, life-threatening skin disease where the skin blisters and tears like tissue paper at the slightest touch. It is extremely painful and is likened to living with 3rd degree burns and there is no cure!
Tilly’s passionate family member Rory Brockwell and his great mate Ricky Robertson decided to spread the word of EB and help Tilly’s rare disease, that’s when Tough Tilly Day was formed to raise much needed awareness and funds for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) and Debra Australia.www.debra.org.au
There have been 4 annual Tough Tilly Day’s with the fifth event set for 6th January 2018 at the Port of Echuca Wharf.
All Tough Tilly events have been a huge success and its profile is continually growing with the 2017 featuring the headlining acts, The voices of Taxiride’s Jason Singh, Boom Crash Opera’s Dale Ryder and Choirboys Mark Gable who rocked the night away.
The team have been busy establishing their very own ‘Not for Profit’ charity called the EB Research Foundation (EBRF). Our focus will now be on leading Global Research and striving to ultimately help find that cure for this terrible disease as we continue to raise much more awareness.
All proceeds from Tough Tilly Day will go directly to EBRF, whilst still supporting Debra Australia.
Below is a link to “Tilly’s Videos” the inspiration behind Tough Tilly Day.
We need to disclaim that the footage is very confronting but it will give you a little more insight into this horrible disease and what sufferers endure on a daily basis.
