Summer Beats by the River in Tocumwal !!!
There is a distinct magic that settles over the Murray River region as late November approaches. The air warms, the river calls, and for a dedicated community of music and art lovers, all roads lead to Tocumwal.
Strawberry Fields, one of Australia’s most treasured independent festivals, is officially returning to its permanent home at “The Wildlands” from 20–22 November 2026.
For the uninitiated, “Strawbs” is much more than just a music festival. Spanning a 300-hectare private property with over a kilometer of direct frontage to the stunning Dhungala (Murray River), it is an immersive four-day pilgrimage held over two nights. It seamlessly blends world-class electronic and live music with large-scale art installations, workshops, wild river swimming, and wellness experiences.
What’s New for 2026?
Anticipation is already at an all-time high. Early Bird tickets sold out a full year in advance, prompting organizers to introduce a fair ticket ballot system via Humanitix to manage demand.
While the massive lineup of over 80 international and local artists is traditionally kept under wraps until later in the year, organizers have teased massive upgrades for 2026:
- A Brand-New Music Stage: Adding a fresh dimension to the iconic existing spaces like the Riverside Beach Stage and the Deep Jungle.
- Accessibility Upgrades: The inclusion of a dedicated low-sensory space ensures the festival grounds are welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
- Deeper Community Focus: Following a massive $100,000 charity contribution in 2025, the festival is continuing its “Pay the Rent” program, donating a portion of every ticket sold directly to Yorta Yorta-led projects.
The Strawberry Experience: Beyond the Dancefloor
While the thunderous state-of-the-art sound systems keep the energy high through the night, daytime at Strawberry Fields belongs to the natural environment and local culture.
- The Beach Stage & River Swims: Start your mornings floating in the cool waters of the Murray River before wandering over to the sandy banks where funk, soul, and chilled house soundtrack the afternoon sunbathing.
- The Tea Lounge & Village: A sanctuary for connection, featuring workshops, forum discussions, and spoken word performance art.
- Monoss Art Garden: A living gallery where roaming performers interact with crowds and large-scale visual artists paint massive murals in real-time across the weekend.
A Note on Sustainability: Strawberry Fields is heavily celebrated for its environmental footprint. Boasting 100% composting toilets, greywater filtration systems that feed permaculture gardens, and a strict 100% reusable crockery system, attendees are reminded to embrace the festival’s core ethos: pack it in, pack it out, and treat the gorgeous local bushland with total respect.
Getting Your Tickets
With the event consistently reaching near-total sellouts before the lineup drops, missing the ticket window is a heartbreak local music fans will want to avoid. The ticket ballot closes at 12:00 PM AEST on June 30, 2026, with the draw taking place on July 2.
Dust off your most colorful festival attire, secure your camping gear, and get ready to lose yourself—and find your community—on the banks of the Murray this November.
